'He always wants there to be the soul in there,' Cruz tells MTV News about his 'Without You' collaborator.
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias
Usher is hard at work on his next album. Set to work with fellow hitmaker Taio Cruz, the two already cooked up some magic with their David Guetta anthem "Without You," and it seems they are hoping to recapture that spirit for Usher's follow-up to 2010's Raymond v. Raymond.
"I saw Usher a few times, but I spoke to him at length at David [Guetta]'s house when we were in Ibiza [Spain]," he told MTV News in L.A. after his Jingle Ball set. "He has very specific ideas of where he wants to go musically and sound-wise." Given that Usher has never shied away from exposing a bit of himself in his music, while also keeping the party going, Cruz wants to make sure they can connect the mind, body and soul for this next release. "He always wants there to be the soul in there," he explained. "I'm kind of, not the opposite, but I'm always like, 'Let's get straight to the point and be really clear with the message and be simple.' "So we try to match those two worlds together: being soulful and, at the same time, catchy," he added. Cruz can't yet discuss what they're working on: Besides "Without You," he said, "Everything else is secret." Usher said he was drawn to the Guetta hit because he connected to it emotionally, explaining to MTV News recently what an important part that plays in his musical philosophy. "I think the world wanted a record like that. That [song] really spoke to the journey that I've actually been on in the last three years," he said. "Traveling all around the world, music sounds different. There's many different genres, and when you see R&B and pop and house, as well as electronic, come together, that's the reality of what music is."
U2's 360 Tour is the year's most profitable in the U.S. and worldwide.
By James Montgomery
U2 didn't even release an album in 2011, but that didn't stop them from raking in plenty of cash. The iconic Irish quartet topped Pollstar's list of the year's most profitable tours, as their massive 360 Tour moved an impressive 2.4 million tickets worldwide, grossing more than $230 million globally. Their North American dates — which were postponed (and subsequently rescheduled) last year as Bono recovered from back surgery — made $156 million, good enough to give them the highest-grossing tour on this continent, too.
Taylor Swift had 2011's second most-profitable North American tour, as her expansive Speak Now jaunt racked up $97.7 million at the box office. Swift's country contemporary Kenny Chesney came in at #3, bringing in nearly $85 million in ticket sales, followed by Lady Gaga, who, despite wrapping up the North American leg of her Monster Ball Tour in April, still managed to bring in $63.7 million at the box office. Bon Jovi rounds out Pollstar's top five, grossing more than $57 million. Kanye West and Jay-Z's Throne tour ($48 million), Lil Wayne's "I Am Still Music" trek ($44 million), Britney Spears ($38 million) and Katy Perry ($28 million) also made the Top 25 in North America. British boy band Take That's reunion tour came in second to U2's 360 trek based on worldwide receipts, making $224 million. Bon Jovi grossed nearly $150 million worldwide, good enough for third, with tours by Swift ($104 million worldwide) and Roger Waters ($103 million) rounding out the top five. Also making Pollstar's worldwide list were Rihanna, the Foo Fighters, Justin Bieber, Usher and the Kings of Leon. Did you attend any of the highest-grossing tours in 2011? DJ set cut short after venue's electrical system caught fire and at least 15 fans suffered smoke inhalation.
By James Montgomery
LMFAO's Red Foo was forced to cut short a Wednesday night DJ set in Honduras after a fire broke out, filling the venue with smoke and sending fans scrambling for the exits.
According to TMZ, Red Foo was nearing the end of his performance at the Coliseo Nacional de Ingenieros in the capital city of Tegucigalpa when the venue's electrical system reportedly caught fire, filling the venue with smoke. According to reports, no one was seriously injured, though at least 15 fans were treated for smoke inhalation. Local television reports showed fans being escorted from the venue and receiving oxygen. Honduran authorities suggested the fire was intentionally set, though at press time, it was not clear if anyone had been arrested in connection with the blaze.
Immediately following the abrupt end to the show, LMFAO's Redfoo took to his Twitter account, joking, "Epic concert tonight!!!! Everybody in Honduras, we set the place on fire!!!! #sorryforpartyrocking." He then responded to a fan about the fire, writing, "They told us there was a fire when we were on stage. Then we went to the dressing rooms and there was smoke in the halls."
He then changed his tone, writing, "On a serious note, hope everybody is safe from the fire tonight! Love you Honduras!"
Through LMFAO's label, Interscope, Redfoo gave this account to MTV News: "All of a sudden, right in the middle of 'Beatockin,' my manager Ian Fletcher shouted, 'There's a fire under the stage. We have to go!'
"I didn't want to go!" he continued. "I didn't realize how serious it was. The security escorted us out the venue. We were forced to leave a few items behind, nothing irreplaceable.
"I hope everybody is safe," he added. "Honduras fans are true party rockers! This will go down in history as one if craziest Redfoo DJ sets ever."
Less than 24 hours removed from the fire, the hard-partying duo were pressing on, celebrating the ascension of their hit "Sexy and I Know It" to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart (knocking off Rihanna's "We Found Love") and prepping for a New Year's Eve gig at the Haze nightclub in Las Vegas, where, hopefully, nothing will catch fire.Related Artists

Beyonce's baby bump was one of the year's most-memorable moments.
By Jocelyn Vena
Anything can happen on the red carpet at any given awards show, and in 2011, it felt like anything that could happen did. As MTV News reflects on some of the biggest moments of the year, we decided to remember some of the most-memorable things A-listers did live right in front of us all.
Lady Gaga's Egg
In February, Gaga had everyone guessing how she would arrive to the Grammys. Given her penchant for crazy looks, no one would have guessed she would have showed up in an egg. Designed by Hussein Chalayan, Gaga later emerged from the structure to proclaim that she was "Born This Way." What was your favorite red-carpet moment of 2011? Vote in our Newsroom poll! Snooki
Speaking of the Grammys, the reality star joined MTV News' own Sway Calloway to talk to all the stars at the show. After helping us out on the 2010 red carpet, we learned that anything is possible with Snooki, and 2011 solidified that she's the fieriest "meatball" to grace the "Jersey Shore." We wonder if she and Bruno Mars ever ended up dating. Paul McDonald and Nikki Reed
"Twilight" star Nikki Reed surprised everyone when she hit up the MTV Movie Awards in June. No, she hadn't borrowed Gaga's egg: She was rocking an engagement rock from her beau and "American Idol" alum Paul McDonald. The couple used the red carpet as the platform to announce their engagement, and married in October. Beyoncé's Baby Bump
She might have rubbed that burgeoning baby bump onstage at the Video Music Awards in August, but hours before she took the stage, donning a bright orange gown, Beyoncé let the paparazzi know she was expecting her first child with hubby Jay-Z by flaunting her pregnancy glow. Justin Bieber's Snake
While Beyoncé shared with the world her baby news, Bieber not only planted a kiss on VMA pre-show host and real-life lady love Selena Gomez, but also introduced her to his pet snake. His name? Johnson. She seemed less interested in the snake than perhaps he would have liked. What was your favorite red-carpet moment in 2011? Share your pick below!

I felt so embarrassed to tell Marc Jacobs that I - me, ex-Spice Girl, married to a footballer - was creating a fashion line." On being immune to trends: "I just create what I want to wear. I make what feels right." Katie Holmes on trusting Victoria's style instincts: "We go to the same events, and we'll call each other to ask, 'What color are you wearing?' I'm always interested in what she's liking for the season." On her odd pregnancy craving: "When I was pregnant, I just wanted to get lots of animals for some reason. From New York to L.A., celebs have plans to ring in 2012 with a bang.
By Jocelyn Vena
New Year's Eve is the last chance you'll have to party in 2011. And as the days to plan out your big night begin to dwindle, MTV News is rounding up some of the biggest parties on the planet. From Los Angeles to New York, there's something for everyone. The Kardashians will be hosting several parties all over Las Vegas. Kim will be at Tao (for a fee of reportedly $600,000), Kourtney, along with the Madden Brothers, will party it up at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens at Paris while Rob has it on lock at Tryst.
Other big Sin City parties include Chris Brown's shindig at Pure, Mary J. Blige's bash at RPM Nightclub, Bruno Mars at The Bank and B.o.B at LAX (the club, not the airport). Fergie and will.i.am will both be in Vegas to ring in 2012. The Black Eyed Peas' leading lady will be at 1OAK, while will.i.am be DJing at Surrender. Professional party rockers LMFAO will be shufflin' all night long at Haze Nightclub at Aria. Newly engaged John Legend will perform at the Palms with T-Pain and Paul Oakenfold. As celeb-filled as it may seem, not all the stars will be in Vegas. In Los Angeles, Mario Lopez is hosting a party at Hollywood & Highland that boasts performances by Lupe Fiasco and Cobra Starship. And in Chicago, "American Idol" alum Lee DeWyze will be at the Hard Rock Hotel with DJ Chris Kennedy (Chris Masterson) spinning tunes. Kanye West's plans have yet to be determined, but he recently tweeted he's looking for a place to DJ right into 2012. We're sure someone will find a place for him at their party.
New York is the home of all things New Year's. Lady Gaga has been booked to perform on two NYE specials: the 40th annual "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" and the Japanese program "Kohaku Uta Gassen." For those who want to snuggle up on their couch and avoid all the partying madness, MTV has your back. This year Demi Lovato, Mac Miller, Selena Gomez, J. Cole, Jason Derulo and more will be on hand for "NYE in NYC 2012," which will air live at 11 p.m. ET on Saturday (December 31) from Times Square, where the famous ball drops on, you guessed it, MTV. What are your New Year's Eve plans? Let us know in the comments!Related Artists
From the birth date to the sex of the baby, fans share their thoughts with MTV News.
By John Mitchell
It's almost here, and no, we're not talking about New Year's. Here at MTV News we're waiting patiently for an even bigger event: the birth of Beyoncé and Jay-Z's baby. And depending on whom you ask, Queen Bey's little prince or princess might be here sooner than any of us thought. According to various media reports, Beyoncé may even be in labor right now.
Rumors that the 4 songstress, who was one of MTV's top Newsmakers of 2011, was set to give birth Wednesday (December 28) first surfaced on Media Takeout, with two nurses at New York's Saint Luke's Roosevelt Hospital allegedly telling the celebrity gossip site that they were informed last night that a "celebrity VIP" who had reserved half of the hospital's luxury labor and delivery floor would be arriving to give birth Wednesday. There has been no confirmation that the rumored VIP is indeed Beyoncé, and representatives for the star did not immediately respond when asked for comment. Fans of the "Countdown" singer and her hip-hop mogul husband are starting to get very excited about baby Jayoncé. When MTV News took to the streets of New York to ask Bey's fans their thoughts on when they expect the baby to make its debut and whether it will be a boy or a girl, they had plenty to say. Most of Bey's fans told us they expected the baby to be born in January, with one perhaps astute fan zeroing in on New Year's Day, saying, "I think Beyoncé's baby will be born sometime in January, maybe on the first." We found only one dissenter on the chilly streets of NYC, and he seemed to have the best knowledge of past public statements from the couple, including an early-September interview with Beyoncé that announced that the baby was actually due in February. "I trust Jay Z, I think he's a good guy," the fan said. "Him and Beyoncé are a good couple, so they wouldn't lie to the public. So Beyoncé's baby is going to be born in February." And nearly all of the fans we surveyed believe the power couple is expecting a baby girl. Perhaps they caught wind of de facto auntie Kelly Rowland's slip of the lip on a London red carpet in early November, where the former Destiny's Child singer said, "I have no idea what I'm going to buy Beyoncé at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible. She won't be spoiled, but she will be very well looked-after." One fan was particularly excited for a baby girl because she hoped the babe picked up Beyoncé's good genes. "Hopefully a girl," she told MTV News. "Probably because I'm a fan of Beyoncé's looks." One thing all could agree on was that Jay and Bey's bundle of joy would jump right to the top of the celebrity baby power list. "A power baby, obviously," one fan said, while another added, "It's gonna be a pretty cool baby, that's for sure. Probably gonna run New York City by the time he's 13 or 14." Do you think Beyoncé and Jay-Z's baby will be a boy or a girl? Let us know in the comments!Related Artists

But before she took the stage, Spears celebrated her big 3-0 with a party on Friday night. The belated birthday bash took place a week after her December 2 birthday. The pop star tweeted all about the party, giving fans a picture of her blowing out the candles on her elaborate, multitiered birthday cake. "Having an amazing time at my end of tour/ belated bday party!" she wrote on Twitter on Saturday. "Thx so much to the Conrad Condado Plaza for giving us a place to celebrate this tour & my 30th bday last night - we all loved the party!" But the fun hardly ended with the party. For the final bow of the tour, Spears was joined by her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, her beau Jason Trawick, sister Jamie Lynn and JL's daughter, Maddie, as she said goodbye to life as a femme fatale, Radaronline.com reports. In addition to all the stage love from those closest to her, Spears was also joined by San Juan tour opener Pauly D. It wasn't the first time for the tourmates: Spears had awarded him one once before when he opened for her on a number of dates on a previous leg of the tour.Related Videos
'I'm pretty intuitive,' actor tells MTV News about why he wanted to work with the pop star on an upcoming basketball-themed drama.
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz
Mark Wahlberg surprised movie fans everywhere when he announced plans to hook up with Justin Bieber on the big screen. But when MTV News caught up with the "Contraband" star recently, he explained why he wanted to work with the teen phenom on the basketball-themed drama.
"Intuition. I'm pretty intuitive," he said of why he thinks shooting a film with the pop star is the right choice. "I see the guy and spent time with him, and you see what he does and how he does it, and then you actually have a conversation with him, and it's there."
Of course, if it doesn't come easily to the rookie actor, Wahlberg has a backup plan: "It's there — and if not, I will extract it."
When MTV News caught up with Wahlberg and Bieber earlier this year at the MTV Movie Awards, they opened up a bit more about the in-the-works flick.
"Wait till you see me and Bieber in the flick. Think of, like, 'The Color of Money,' " Wahlberg said of his "old guy" role. "So I get this call from Paramount [with a story about] an old guy and a young guy. I'm like, 'Cool, let's get Jack [Nicholson]. Let's get Robert De Niro. Let's get Robert Duvall.' And they go, 'What about Garrett Hedlund?' I'm like, 'For what?' " he further recalled. "They're like, 'For the young guy.' "
Bieber, who previously appeared on the big screen in his 3-D concert flick "Never Say Never," said he hopes to be on a film set by sometime next summer. And while he kept his plans hush-hush, he added that his team is "working on the script."

Remix also features Andre 3000 and is a bit racier than the original track.
By Jocelyn Vena
The Bangladesh-produced song originally appeared on K-Dollar's 2010 Cannibal album before a remix featuring Andre popped up earlier this year. The latest version of the song is available for purchase and is all over blogs like Rap-Up.com. The song gets a bit dirtier and introspective thanks to verses from the guys that play up the track's bumping beat. Wiz kicks it off, rapping about designer clothes and his lady love, Amber Rose. "OK, I'm young and I'm tatted/ I get them bucks like an addict/ Rocking this Christian Dior/ I spend so much on my fabric/ I got a wifey at home/ And what she wants she can have it," he spits before going on about chilling on the beach, being rich and his prowess in the bedroom. Sitting in between Wiz and Tip is Andre's recycled verse, before T.I. gets his shot and gets sexy, asking Ke$ha, "Do you know what to do with me?" before he launches into a verse all about how good he is to the ladies. "Bad bitches know me/ So don't bother introducing me/ They want me more than diamonds," he brags before explaining that it has a lot to do with his impressive anatomy. Wayne closes it out, adding his own signature flair. "We be on that sh-- that no one be on/ That's what we on/ Smoke that neon, Kings of Leon/ Dynamite, Napoleon/ Got some skinnies and a tee on/ And some Vans," he rhymes about his famous sense of Weezy-fied style before the song circles back to the funky chorus, where Ke$ha declares that she doesn't "need you or your brand-new Benz/ Or your bougie friends/ I don't need love lookin' like diamonds/ Lookin' like diamonds." If any of K's fans or critics were wondering if she has the swagger to chill with the guys, she displayed some of her sass when she tweeted about the remix. "Question ANIMALS ... who can say they got with Lil Wayne, T.I., Andre 3000 and Wiz Khalifa on a f---ing hot track??" she asked. "ill give u one clue ... Its $." Bieber's holiday special airs December 22 and will raise money for his Believe charity drive.
By Jocelyn Vena
Justin Bieber has helped light the tree in New York's Rockefeller Plaza and sang Christmas carols with the president. Now, MTV News has confirmed that the pop star will celebrate the season once more with his very own special, "Justin Bieber: Home for the Holidays."
Bieber will tape the fundraising special at a secret Toronto location before it airs December 22 on MuchMusic and CTV. In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Bieber said, "The holidays are a very special time of the year for me and I'm looking forward to coming home and ringing them in with my friends and family." Funds raised at the show will benefit Bieber's Believe charity. Portions of the proceeds raised by his holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, also went to the nonprofit. Believe raises money for organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Pencils of Promise, Musicians on Call, Project Medishare for Haiti, City of Hope, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Grammy Foundation. "I am launching the Believe Charity Drive because I know firsthand that if you believe in your dreams, everything is possible," Bieber said in a statement about the initiative. "The Believe Charity Drive directly benefits charities that are making a difference in the world. You can ... donate as little as one dollar, or even donate your time, because everything will make a difference. Please join me in our quest to raise millions of dollars by the release of my new 2012 album, Believe. I know that with your help, we can make a change." On Monday (December 12), in addition to announcing the holiday special, Bieber's manager Scooter Braun also tweeted about the overwhelming success Under the Mistletoe has had since its November debut. "@JustinBieber's christmas album 'Under The Mistletoe' is the biggest selling International Christmas album for UMG in a decade!!" he tweeted. "That makes it the biggest selling holiday album on Universal in the last decade moving ahead of Andrea Bocelli. very proud and at this rate by Christmas @justinbieber's 'Under The Mistletoe' will be the biggest 4th qtr album release of the entire UMG-EMI system!" Bieber recorded several classic tunes for the album, as well as original songs, including lead single "Mistletoe." He worked with artists like Mariah Carey, Usher, the Band Perry, Busta Rhymes and Boyz II Men on the project. "Thank u to everyone supporting this incredible album," Braun added. "All the stats are amazing but what Im most proud of is the music. REALLY GREAT MUSIC."Related Videos

Tip confirms second remix in the works for track, which previously featured a remix verse from Andre 3000.
By Jocelyn Vena
Ke$ha's already gotten "Sleazy" with Andre 3000. Now, a few more rappers want to get dirty with the glittery pop singer. XXLmag.com reports that T.I. plans to jump on the track, and Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa will also be joining Andre and Tip on a new version of "Sleazy." Weezy should be a welcome addition to Ke$ha's dance tune, as it sounds somewhat like Wayne's single "A Milli." And while not much else is known about the remix, T.I. promised that he's going to go big with his verse. "I haven't heard anybody but mine. ... I'm gonna put my money on mine," the newly freed rapper, who ended an 11-month prison sentence in September, told the website. The Andre 3000 remix dropped earlier this year and appears on K-Dollar Sign's album Cannibal. The guys will have a lot of swagger to compete with because when Andre appeared on the first remix, he had this to say: "We start out so cute in our baby pictures/ That mama shot for our daddy so that he wouldn't forget you/ He forgot anyway, but hey, one day he'll remember/ If not, he's human, I'm human, you human, we'll forgive him/ I call her Keisha, she like it because it's 'hood to her/ She call me Andre 6000 because I'm good to her." Tip told XXLmag.com that his appearance on the Ke$ha song is just one of many remixes he's amped about. He has also worked on remixes for Meek Mill and Rick Ross's "Ima Boss," as well as Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne song "N---as in Paris." "I'm looking for some more records to jump on," he said. "That's what I'm doin' right now. I'm commandeering hit records right now. I'm hijacking hit records. If you got a hit, I'm on it." It?s always risky to venture into the realm of politics, but Kelly Clarkson's recent endorsement of Ron Paul has paid off big for her.
The ?Mr. Know It All? songstress? latest album Stronger has surged 192% in sales since she tweeted her support of conservative Republican Presidential hopeful.
In the past 24 hours, Stronger has gone from the #41 spot to #14 on the Amazon Movers & Shakers in Music list.
Yesterday (December 29) Kelly tweeted, ?I love Ron Paul. He?s got my vote,? which garnered mixed reviews from her followers. Some rejoiced at Clarkson?s statements, while others questioned whether or not Paul is racist or homophobic.
To that end, Kelly replied, ?I am really sorry if I have offended anyone. Obviously that was not my intent. I do not support racism. I support gay rights, straight rights, women?s rights, men?s rights, white/black/purple/orange rights. I like Ron Paul because he believes in less government and letting the people (all of us) make the decisions and mold our country. That is all. Out of all the Republican nominees, he?s my favorite.?
Big Sean tells MTV News that 2012 will also bring his F.F.O.E. (Finally Famous Over Everything) mixtape and sophomore album.
By Rob Markman, with reporting by Vanessa Whitewolf
The ball hasn't even dropped yet, but 2012 is already looking to be a pretty good year for hip-hop thanks to planned releases from Kanye West and his G.O.O.D. Music clan.
"We're gonna do the G.O.O.D. Music album first; we been working on that," Big Sean told MTV News a few weeks ago on the set of Wale's "Slight Work" video in California. "So, me, Kanye, Cudi, CyHi, John Legend, Common, Pusha T, everybody on G.O.O.D., Mr Hudson: We're all working on a new project; it's almost done. We're going to London to finish it up and do the last part of it and working on my album at the same time with 'Ye and everybody."
Last week just before Christmas, Kanye gave fans across the pond a sneak preview of his label compilation when he DJed at holiday party at LeBaron London. Not only did Yeezy spin G.O.O.D. Music tracks, he also played beats from his upcoming sixth solo album, according to a report on Rap-Up. Maybe New Year's party-goers will get a taste too, since Kanye tweeted that he'd like to bring in 2012 on the 1s and 2s as well. "I kinda wanna DJ somewhere this New Years," he wrote Tuesday night.
Big Sean estimates that the G.O.O.D. Music album will drop in the spring, and after that, in the summer of 2012, he will be ready to deliver his sophomore album. Before that though, the Detroit MC promises to release a mixtape. Despite his major-label success in 2011, Sean recognizes that it was his mixtape grind that finally made him famous. "I'm sticking to that," he said. "I got the new F.F.O.E. mixtape, Finally Famous Over Everything, coming, new G.O.O.D. Music album, the next Finally Famous album, so we going hard."
Which project are you most looking forward to: the G.O.O.D. Music album, Big Sean's F.F.O.E. mixtape or Sean's sophomore LP? Tell us in the comments!
'Me and my gay best friend just danced until 8 a.m.,' Ke$ha tells MTV News.
By Jocelyn Vena
It's prom season, and that means high schoolers across this great land will be renting tuxes, buying fancy dresses and negotiating the details of their curfews with parents. So, before you take your pictures and get in your limos, we asked some Hollywood A-listers to recall their fondest prom memories. "I had a great prom," Ne-Yo told MTV News. "I didn't get to go with who I wanted to go with. I got my second choice, but my second choice turned out to be the one I was supposed to be there with, so it turned out good."
Ke$ha, never one to say no to a party, had the best night of all her friends. "I went to prom with my gay best friend, and let me tell you, I had way more fun than anybody else at a prom with their boyfriends," she recalled. "Everybody else was, like, crying and drama and breaking up, and me and my gay best friend just danced until 8 a.m." "Hellcats" star Aly Michalka doesn't have a favorite prom memory — because she never went to prom. "I was homeschooled, so I don't even think we had a fake prom," she lamented. "Like, maybe we had a home-school prom and I wasn't invited?" While everything always seems to be in peril on "The Vampire Diaries," star Nina Dobrev had a less tumultuous night: "Having everyone get together and such a final celebration [is what I remember]." Romeo went big for his prom. "My senior prom, I remember I pulled up in my red Ferrari. I was feeling like James Bond," he said. "And it was one of the best nights of my life." "My favorite prom memory was probably going shopping for a dress, and our boyfriends at the time dressed up as 'Dumb & Dumber,' " Audrina Patridge laughed. "And so we were like, 'We can't dress up dorky ... we have to look good.' " Roots drummer ?uestlove made a big decision on the night of his prom: "June 2, 1989, was my very last haircut; prom haircut, totally butchered my hair. He butchered my hair, and I vowed never again to ever get in a barber chair, so I grew that Afro on my prom night." Adam Lambert said his prom date was a 10, so he definitely had a fun night. "I had a great prom. I had an awesome time," he said. "I went with one of my best friends in high school. Her name was Lauren, and she was really hot. She wore a really hot red dress, so I felt like I had arm candy." Share your prom memories in the comments below!Related Videos
Actor tells MTV News he 'wouldn't have done' the film unless Crowe signed on.

Cameron Crowe is one of those Hollywood directors whose body of work and reputation as a filmmaker have long had actors and studios alike lining up to work with him. Crowe's impressive filmography includes cinema staples like "Say Anything," "Almost Famous" and "Jerry Maguire," and he's aiming to add to that illustrious list with "We Bought a Zoo," starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson.
When MTV News caught up with Damon recently to discuss "Zoo" (opening in wide release on Friday), we first had to touch on which Crowe classic is his favorite ... since everyone has one.
" 'Jerry Maguire' for me," Damon told us. "I love that movie and I just love Tom Cruise's performance. All the performances are great but Cruise really anchors that thing so beautifully. It's just so hard to do what he does, and he just does it really, really well in that movie."
Speaking to the premise of "Zoo" (based on a true story and book of the same name), Damon said that Crowe is the only director he trusted to tell the story without venturing into schmaltzy territory. "Without the Cameron Crowe input, I wouldn't have done it. It does feel like the kind of 'attendant pieces' are so highly combustible that you don't really want to mess with it, but it's a director's medium and, ultimately, the director is going to set the tone," Damon explained. "They're the arbiter of taste at the end of the day, so if you trust the director, you can pretty much go with any type of material. So that's why I rolled the dice on this one was really because of Cameron."
In the film Damon plays a widower struggling to keep his family together, so we wondered who the better father is: Damon's character, Benjamin, or Damon in real life?
"I think they're both pretty good actually," he said with a smile. "I do my best in real life and I think this guy is trying his best. One of the things I really related to about the movie and the character is that he's desperately trying to do his best as a dad, which leads him to do this kind of incredibly desperate thing."
